MD series yarn heat set machine has been developed and designed within the scope of the Project of TÜBİTAK R&D. Now, it has been served to carpet yarn manufacturers. Frieze Heat set machine can run with 2 channels and 18, 24 or 30 ends per channel or up to 36,48 or 60 ends per machine.
Carpet yarn Frieze Heat-set machine is used for the continuous friezing and heat setting of twisted synthetic yarns like Polypropylene, Polyester, Polyamide and Nylon, also Spun Yarns like Acrylic, Wool, Cotton and blended yarns. This process takes place in the climate chamber under atmospheric pressure by over-heated steam.

CREEL
Creel is used for accumulation of the twisted yarn bobbins to be heat-set conditioning. There will be the double size of bobbin holder as the number of ends during the ordering the machine; half of them are active bobbin adaptors and the others are reserve bobbin adaptors. With the help of reserve adaptors, the creel provides continuity of yarn flow to the rewinder.
The creel is equipped with a maximum weight of 8 kg, bobbin holder and, with mechanical yarn tensioner (OZ brand) per end. Ceramic eyes and guides are utilized on yarn passages. The yarns while transferring from creel to the rewinding unit are passing through revolving guides as well as ceramic eyelets. (Electronic yarn detectors per end are optional)
FRIEZE UNITS
Each frieze unit has own motors and setting systems. One can feed each unit up to 30 ends. There is a false twist system for each unit in order to provide a regular frieze effect inside the chamber. Depending on the number of end chosen while ordering the machine, false twist system will have as many as the specified end number yarn guide. The false twist speed and frequency can be set and memorized depending on the yarn type utilized and the desired frieze effect.
The yarn control godets are produced of special alloy steel to prevent heat deformation. All parts in contact with steam are made from inox steel. A steam injection is applied to the friezing box made of inox steel. Textured yarns leaving the box slides through an inox ramp to the mesh conveyor belt and than feed to the to the heat setting chamber.
The frieze unit has four wheels, and can be installed easily in between the creel and the heat setting machine.
YARN LAYING UNITS
There are 2 Yarn Laying Units (YLU) on the machine. Each is mounted on their stand, and designed very sturdy. The units are operated from the touch screen control panel. The synchronization of the unit is set automatically. The speed of it can be set depending on the yarn count and controlled with inverter control. The YLU lays the yarns on an endless conveyor belt, which deposits the ellipsoid bundle of yarn and carry it to the heat setting chamber. The laying speed as well as the laying thickness can be adjusted by inverter. Ellipsoid yarn bundle has a diameter of 300 mm.
This yarn is carried to the heat set chamber by high temperature resistant (350 °C) mesh conveyor belt. The length of its belt is 32.400 mm YLU winder (head) has 4 endless specially designed helicoidally screw carry the bundle of yarn to the mesh conveyor belt. It is made of inox steel and has a very low maintenance. A steel platform and steel stairs are done for operator to reach easily the YLU winder (head).
MD Series Frieze Heat Set Machines one can either work on belts, straight set, or one straight, and one textures, or on both textures heat setting, at the same time. One can switch from straight set to textures set in a few minutes and vice versa.
HEAT SETTING CHAMBER
The heat setting chamber has 2 entrances and is made of inox steel. Air circulation inside the chamber is specially designed. The chamber has a special steam circulation system in order to provide a homogeneous steam circulation all along the tunnel. There are 3 steam circulation fans. The steam overheating resistances are placed in the chamber so that one group is at the entrance and the other is at the exit side of the chamber. There are 30 heating resistances in the chamber.
At the heat setting chamber yarn entrance, a steel yarn control device is applied from the top of the yarn bundles carried on the conveyor.This yarn control device keeps the yarn bundle smoothly on the conveyor belt so that the single end high twist yarn curl is prevented.
Pleva Humidity Control Unit is present on MD Series Frieze Heat Set Machines. In order to save steam consumption, there are automatic steam valve for the incoming steam, as well as air curtain application to the entrance and exit of the chamber.
RELAXATION ZONE
As the yarn comes out of the chamber, there is a very efficient cooling system applied right on the 2 conveyors. The yarn is completely cooled and dried before entering the winder. At the end of each conveyor, there are transparent sheets to control the pulled yarn towards the winders.
The conveyor belt has photocells, in order to synchronize the belt, the feeding and the winder. Thanks to this system, the machine can work without stoppage. If the stoppage is for a long period, the conveyor band stops automatically after the yarn bundle reaches a predetermined position on the belt.
The heat set chamber is well insulated to eliminate heat loss to prevent the workers from hot surfaces.
A specially patented yarn bundle separator roller applies vibrations onto entangled yarn bundle so that the yarn bundle can be easily separated for winding with single end bobbins. Thanks this patented device, an injurious high yarn tension for yarn separating process is prevented and the frieze effect is long lasting.
